Erh.
So I promised to write to the exchange student column on our university newspaper. I realize that during the switch of terms it might be hard to find available writers, but I'm just trying to figure out what I can possibly tell with my two and a half week experience of Iceland. It might turn out amusing, especially if I'll try to avoid the clichés of a rotten shark and eyeball eating, stormy weather enduring nation.
I already have the photos for the article though. I think I started from the right end of a writing process.

Ai niin, ethän unohda paikkaa nimeltä Babalú. -m-
En unohda en. Itseasiassa paivittainen matkani koululle kulkee useimmiten juuri Skólavörðustíguria myöden, ellen nyt sitten satu huvin vuoksi puikkelehtimaan muita pikkukujia pitkin.
Tuo Nea asuu kyl hiukan liian hyvalla paikalla, kun kivenheiton paassa on niin Babalú kuin 12 Tónar.
Ja niin... Pahoittelen kaihoa, mutta toisaalta, hienoa mikali sinullekin palaavat jotkut muistot aina ajoittain mieleen. Ehken sitten kirjoita ihan pelkkia yhdentekevyyksia.

Yes, the language above, and also in some other comments, is Finnish. Besides that it looks cool, people have commented that it also sounds nice. Furthermore, one listener commented that it'd probably be very good for whispering sweet nothings - I've yet to discover the truthness of that though!
But yes, I like the softness of Finnish too. It came with a price: at the beginning of times we were probably preoccupied in stealing all the vowels from the Poles, and opportunist Norwegians took all our mountains in the meanwhile.
I'm sure you know you shouldn't be kicking yourself too hard these days, can't get back in time anyway. Better just focus on the next opportunities to travel and maybe even live elsewhere, if that's how you feel like.
I'm a great fan of your blog title by the way! Not all those who wander are lost. Yes. That's kind of how I feel about myself as well.
But did you ever write anything there?
No, I'm not laughing, that's actually a very nice effort from you! Finnish double letters are quite hard to grasp, since most languages don't really use them, Obviously I have to ignore the missing umlauts, but that's not a biggie. (I missed them on my first comment in here as well...)
Yksi, kaksi, kolme, neljä, viisi, kuusi, seitsemän, kahdeksan, yhdeksän, kymmenen.
And of course, "minä rakastan sinua."
Fun and strange to hear that I've got readers in other continents as well. Iceland-wise I fear that I won't be nearly as interesting as E is, but nonetheless! :)
